How scoring works
The closer you are, the more you score
An exact prediction earns 4 points. If you are not spot on, you can still earn points for getting close.
for an exact score
Three things to remember
Start with 2
Every prediction starts with 2 accuracy points.
Right result? Add 2
Pick the right winner or correctly predict a draw.
Closer is better
We take a little off the further your prediction is from the real score.

Why did it change?
The old system only rewarded an exact score or the right result. The new system also rewards close predictions, so more of your football knowledge counts.
Show me the exact calculation
2 + result bonus − goal errors − goal-difference errors
- The result bonus is 2 points.
- Each goal of score error costs 0.25 points.
- Each goal of goal-difference error costs 0.5 points.
There is no zero floor, so a prediction that is a long way out can score below zero.
Scores already awarded stay exactly as they are. Existing leagues also keep their own scoring rules.
Prefer classic scoring?
Crossways still uses 3 points for an exact score and 1 for the right result.
